Madeleina Kay

'Raising the Roof' was a week long exhibition of Madeleina's work in support of the Edale church roof restoration fund originally displayed at 35 chapel walk gallery in Sheffield. The exhibition aimed to capture the Edale community and the natural environment and was subsequently displayed in an exhibition in Edale church. The landscape works celebrate the beauty of the local area and document the impact of human activity that has formed the landscape that is experienced today. The portraiture features prominent members of the edale community, conveying their personality and strength of character. Finally, the abstract works are an exploration of the artist's own emotional experience of the environment in Edale.
