Ceramic Vases

My ceramic vases are made from wrapped glay sheets. To create the vase I roll the clay thinly, then cut unique geometric chapes which i then roll into a tube and attach to a base. The vases vary in size and have been finished in one of two glazes. One set of vases have been glazed using blue, white and clear stonewre glazes, they typically have a base colour and a drip pattern. The other set of vases have been fired in a raku kiln. They have been glazed in a variety of colours, including blue, white and red copper oxide and have a burnt, blackened colouration on the exposed areas. The vases combine to form the mountainous landform of the winter wonderscape scene in the instalation.
